Students who read at least 4 books at their reading level in the summer will be more successful in school! Just imagine what 8 or 12 or 50 books will do!
Prizes will be awarded in September for students completing their reading logs with at least 60 minutes each week for 12 weeks. That is a total of 720 minutes.
Students reading 720 minutes will receive 1 entry in the prize drawing. For every 100 additional minutes you will receive an additional entry in the drawing. For example 820 minutes = 3 drawing entries, 1020 minutes – 4 drawing entries and so on.
Enter the number of minutes each day and the total for the week. If you get behind one week you can read more to catch up the following week. also, list the names of the books you read on the back of the minute log.

Students listened to a rock band and motivational speaker who told us the story of his son’s brave recovery from a life threatening medical problem. He encouraged all students to be clear about choices they make each day. Little things can add up. What we do now directly affects future dreams for us and our community and families.
Another speaker spoke about the power of words. Kind words can direct a person towards positive decisions and a better life. Everyone is valuable. All of us together can make our community a better place to live by making better choices.
AlBrook Band students participated in a Regional Event for musicians attending schools in NorthEastern Minnesota. Area master musicians served as Judges. These Judges listened to each Band and then offered their professional critique. Students appreciated the information as they are very interested in playing better (and sounding their best!).
